Obamaword

One of my best Facebook buddies, ArtySmarty, wrote on his wall inauguration day, “I’ve been Obamatized.” It got LeeZard thinking again (always a dangerous thing) about his quest for a nickname for the new Obama-in-Chief (O-i-C).

“LeeZard,” said moi, “you’ve got to expand your thinking beyond just nicknames.” And, ya know what? LeeZard is right. After all “Obama” is one of the best presidential last names we’ve ever had. There is so much you can do with it.

The first thing that came to LeeZard's twisted little mind, of course, was the 1964 novelty hit "The Name Game." (POP QUIZ: Who sang "The Name game?" See below if you can't remember. After you know the answer watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MJLi5_dyn0)

All together now:
Obama!
Obama Rama Bo Bama
Banana Fana Fo Fama
Fe Fi Mo Mama
Obama!

Okay, let's go to work. Obama can be a verb, as in ArtySmarty’s usage – and we’ll revisit that in a moment. Let's begin with the proper noun as in Obamarama to name his administration if it’s a winner. The flip side would be Obazaster if it goes south. After it's all over, of course there will be the Presidential Obrary.

The name can be a geo-political home run when Obamarama takes the show on the road. It can be Oboomeranga when he visits Australia or Obamarachi when he goes South-of-the-Border. Just think of the possibilities.

Leezard is sure we can customize it for virtually every nation on Earth! For example:
• Obamarino (Italy)
• Obamavoir (France)
• Obizabeth II (Great Britain)
• O'Bama (Ireland)
• Obamnich (Russia)
• Obamderstrauss (Germany)
• Obajumbe (LeeZard does his research! Jumbe is Swahili for “leader.”)
• Obestrela (Brazil/Portugal where “estrela” means “star”)
• Ao Bo Rong (Which is one version of Obama in Chinese)
• Etc…….

LeeZard is now on a roll.

Adjectives? We’ve got ‘em. Inauguration Day was certainly Obalicious and, when he refocuses on the war in Afghanistan, LeeZard is certain the O-i-C will turn Obavicous and be Obatorious.

As an adverb, we can only hope he approaches the whole shebang Obadiciously.

Back to the verb verbiage. What does “Obamatized” mean? Let’s go to my source. “The inauguration was like a religious experience,” explained ArtySmarty, “I bathed in the waters and was Obamatized!”

Actually, ArtySmarty was sitting in his Jacuzzi overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Orange County, CA but, as usual, LeeZard digresses.

Let’s continue down Verb Avenue. If you’re lucky enough to get into a poker game with the O-i-C and he takes you to the cleaners, you’ve been Obamarized. Before Robert Gates, the lone cabinet holdover (Secretary of Defense) from the Dubya Disaster, could join Obamarama he was Obamerated. The rest of Dubya’s goons were Obliminated and we can only hope Dubya settles in to deep Obascurity.

Finally, LeeZard would like to think the Obamate gets Oboomaed regularly now that they are off the campaign trail and in the same city.

What do we get from all of this? It has inspired LeeZard and we now have a nickname for the O-i-C. With apologies to the Governor of California, let’s all Hail to the Obaminator!
